Intermediate Sprints: Cyclist’s Guide to the Treasures of Chojnice County by Jakub Kornhauser. Mikrooficyna ówże, 2025.
This is a collection of essays about Chojnice County (Bory Tucholskie! Kashubia!) seen/experienced from atop a touring bike.
“This part of the Kashubian Route gives you the opportunity to stretch out your bruised muscles and heal the wounds from tramping through the dunes. It’s an easy ride, one pedal stroke after an- other, crossing the Chojnice-Bytów road once again and heading for the slight climbs to Chociński Młyn—sometimes the road goes up, sometimes it goes down—all the time through the forest, parallel to the roadway, on which there is admittedly little traffic, but it is nicer to ride on a separate dirt path, isn’t it? Meanwhile, the county borders have long since fled into the unknown, and with each turn of the crank you approach some center, even if it is imaginary and the most modest of modest ones, personified by either the territory of the National Park, the metropolitan ambitions of Chojnice, the resort chic of Charzykowy, or even the soaring church towers in Brusy.”
